Of all the
posts this is the one that is most difficult for me, because I did not know how
to answer it and I had to reflect a lot to start.
Well first of
all, I think that the art and the personal life of a person are closely
related, they are part of the same, because the facts that a person experiences
in their daily life, their routine, their fears, their desires and everything,
shape a person and that person lives art based on this, because in art they can
reflect and look at their own emotions, their own feelings, they can feel
through art and in turn art comes from there, from everything that people
experiment in their daily lives, because regardless of the type of art that is
made, there will always be something of the person and everything that is
typical of a person comes from their personal life.
Knowing all
of the above, I would say that it is something that each person has their own
way of doing, because each person has their own times, responsibilities,
interests and wills.
On the
other hand, perhaps being more specific about ‘arts studies’ it seems to me
that everything I’m learning I can go looking for how to incorporate it into my
tools and relate everything to get more out of it.
Personally,
everything I have been learning about music and technology I am incorporating
into my ways of making music, and the reflections made in classes I try to
process them as much as possible and if these produce a change in my
perspective on the world, I will gradually incorporate them. I also try to get
into the art world meeting people, relating to people who are also interested
in the same to have variety and learn more, because all those things contribute
both to you as a person and also to you as a professional future.
In this
aspect, something that was very useful for me was joining the team of a
cultural center of the university where I could develop more and apply things
that I have learned and also meet people who have taught me a lot in various
aspects and have given me a look at how It is the world working on art in
Chile, I also made wonderful friends there who still accompany me and with whom
we have professional plans for the future, which I find very valuable.
In short, I
think that in reality art studies and personal life are something that in
themselves are linked, but it seems to me that you have to work a lot and get
into the subject for everything to work out.
